Prospecting and Site Assessment

Everything starts with the initial discovery. TPI holds dozens of leases on private lands and has successfully prospected for, and recovered, fossils from a number of formations. If you own a parcel of land that you suspect may hold untold fossil treasures we may be able to help find and document them. We can work with you to evaluate what strata are outcropping on your land and what fossils might be contained there.

Excavation and Recovery

TPI approaches projects with over 75 years combined professional experience and artisan skills- especially when it comes to stewardship of our source localities and recovery of the original fossil specimens. We guarantee that no pertinent datum is left uncollected. Taphonomic analysis, collateral fossil specimens, precise field mapping, extensive documentation, and clear title with site access are all hallmarks of fossils acquired from TPI; we simply reserve the casting rights.

Preparation and Restoration

Preparing fossil vertebrates to the highest professional standards is what TPI has always done, and will always do. Ever since we opened our doors more than 25 years ago, TPI has been preparing fossil vertebrates every day, all-year round. Along the way we have honed our skills and learned a few new techniques that have served us, and our customers, very well. Our company combines skilled artisans with the latest technologies, including laser-scanning and rapid prototyping. If you can visualize it then we can produce it. No specimen is too small or too large for our skilled preparators to reveal in, or remove from, its surrounding matrix.
