There was no predator more feared among the Mesozoic fauna of Petrified Forest than Postosuchus. More massive than an African lion, this intimidating beast was equipped with long hind-legs for running down and lunging at prey, and with massive jaws lined with teeth up to 7.5 cm (3 inches) long for subduing prey with a single, bone crushing bite.
