This reconstruction is based off of the holotype skull housed at the University of Kansas. Though discovered in the late 1800s, plesiosaur skulls are exceedingly rare in the Niobrara and this complete specimen is one of the finest ever found. TPI painstakingly worked to inflate the flattened skull for this reconstruction.
